मध्य प्रदेश की राजधानी भोपाल से बीजेपी उम्मीदवार साध्वी प्रज्ञा देर रात अचानक पुरानी जेल पहुंच गईं. यहां उन्होंने EVM को रखने के लिए बनाए गए स्ट्रांग रूम का जायजा लिया. पुरानी जेल में साध्वी प्रज्ञा करीब 40 मिनट तक रहीं. साध्वी प्रज्ञा ठाकुर  ने यहां जेल परिसर में ईवीएम की सुरक्षा का जायजा लिया और स्ट्रॉन्ग रूम भी चेक किया. साथ ही उन्होंने स्ट्रांग रूम के बाहर तैनात कार्यकर्ताओं से की मुलाकात.

भोपाल में बनी पुरानी जेल ही वो जगह है जहां EVM को रखने के लिए स्ट्रांग रूम बनाया गया है. साध्वी प्रज्ञा करीब 40 मिनट तक इस पुरानी जेल परिसर में रहीं. इस दौरान उन्होंने सीसीटीवी से लेकर स्ट्रांग रूम ठीक से सील है या नहीं इसका जायजा लिया. उनके साथ शिवराज सरकार में मंत्री रहे उमाशंकर गुप्ता भी मौजूद थे. स्ट्रांग रूम के निरीक्षण के बाद साध्वी प्रज्ञा ठाकुर गला खराब होने के कारण कुछ बोल नहीं पाईं. लेकिन उन्होंने इशारों-इशारों में ईवीएम की सुरक्षा पर सवाल उठाए. साध्वी ने इशारों में बताया कि वो ईवीएम की सुरक्षा से वो संतुष्ट नहीं और इस बारे में वो लिखित में अपनी बात कहेंगी.साध्वी प्रज्ञा की जगह उनके साथ आए पूर्व मंत्री उमाशंकर गुप्ता ने मीडिया से बात की. उमाशंकर गुप्ता ने कहा कि मशीन पर संदेह नहीं,

लेकिन कांग्रेस की सरकार होने के कारण निगरानी करनी पड़ रही है. उन्होंने कहा कि दिग्विजय सिंह का मानना है कि चुनाव मैनेजमेंट से जीते जाते हैं इसलिए कुछ भी हो सकता है. हमारा भविष्य भी ईवीएम में कैद है और वो यहां रखा हुआ है इसलिए हम निरीक्षण करने पहुंचे. यहां देखने के बाद लगा कि सुरक्षा और मजबूत होनी चाहिए. इसकी शिकायत वे बुधवार को जिला निर्वाचन अधिकारी और मुख्य निर्वाचन पदाधिकारी से लिखित में करेंगी.गौरतलब है कि पुरानी जेल स्थित काउंटिंग हॉल में लोकसभा चुनाव के वोटों की काउंटिंग 23 मई को होगा
