कवर्धा के विभिन्न परिदृश्यों के समग्र विकास के लिए CHiRP (Central Highland Restoration Program) की बैठक सम्पन्न

कवर्धा और जिला के आस-पास के समग्र परिदृश्य जीर्णोद्धार के लिए, कॉमनलैंड फाउंडेशन के सक्रिय समर्थन के साथ CSOs (SAMERH, AGRICON, FES, PRADAN, NCCI) समुदाय और शासकीय विभाग को शामिल करते हुए एक समिति गठित की जा रही है, जो एक साझा लक्ष्य की ओर सहयोग करेगा। कवर्धा के परिदृश्य में प्रमुख चुनौतियों और अवसरों पर चर्चा करने और सहयोगी योजना बनाने के लिए हर तीन से चार महीने में बैठक रखी जायेगी। आज के इस बैठक का उद्देश्य कवर्धा के समग्र परिदृश्य जीर्णोद्धार के लिए सामूहिक दृष्टिकोण की दिशा में काम करना है।
दिनांक 12.07.2024 को CHiRP (Central Highland Restoration Program) नामक इस कार्यक्रम में समूह के स्थायी योजना पर मार्गदर्शन करने के लिए श्री शशि कुमार, वनमंडलाधिकारी कवर्धा द्वारा भाग लिया गया। उन्होंने वन विभाग से चल रहे काम को साझा किया और कई क्षेत्रों पर प्रतिक्रिया और सिफारिशें दीं। उनकी उपस्थिति और अंतर्दृष्टि ने कार्यशाला को और अधिक आकर्षक और उत्पादक बना दिया। उन्होंने उन प्रमुख क्षेत्रों पर भी प्रकाश डाला, जहाँ वन विभाग सहायता कर सकता है, जैसे कि विभिन्न सरकारी योजनाओं के तहत पौधे उपलब्ध कराना, जैसेः-
* एक पेड़ मॉ के नाम
* स्मृति उद्यान
* MFPs के सभी तीन चरण (संग्रह एवं खरीदी, प्रसंस्करण और विपणन)
इसके अतिरिक्त, उन्होंने ऐसे क्षेत्रों का सुझाव दिया, जहाँ CSOsऔर जनप्रतिनिधिगण योगदान दे सकते हैं, जैसेः-

* पूनम अवलोकन
* इको-टूरिज्म
उन्होंने वन विभाग की चार प्रमुख अधिनियमों के प्रावधानों के महत्व पर भी जोर दिया-
* वन संरक्षण अधिनियम, 1980
* वन्यप्राणी संरक्षण अधिनियम, 1972
* वन अधिकार अधिनियम, 2006
* भारतीय वन अधिनियम, 1927
इसके अलावा, उन्होंने 2024 से 2034 तक एक नई कार्य योजना के विकास और संरक्षण से संबंधित चुनौतियों पर चर्चा की।

 the Holistic Landscape Restoration of Kawardha and the surrounding district, a coalition involving CSOs (SAMERH, AGRICON, FES, PRADAN, NCCI), the community, and the Government Department, with the proactive support of the Commonland Foundation, is forming to collaborate towards a common goal. Every three to four months, they convene to discuss the major challenges and opportunities in the landscape and engage in collaborative planning.

The current meeting aims to work _’Towards collective visioning for holistic landscape restoration.’_

The program, named CHiRP (Central Highland Restoration Program), saw Shashi Sir (DFO Kawardha) participating to guide the group on sustainable planning. He shared ongoing work from the Forest Department and provided feedback and recommendations on several areas. His presence and insights made the workshop more engaging and productive. He also highlighted key areas where the Forest Department can support, such as providing various saplings under different government schemes like:

Ek ped man ke naam
Smriti Garden
All three stages of MFPs (collection & procurement, processing, and marketing)
Additionally, he suggested areas where CSOs and community leaders can contribute, such as:

Titli Tihar
Poonam Avlokan
Eco-tourism
He also emphasized the Forest Department’s importance of the provisions of four major acts:

Forest Conservation Act, 1980
Wildlife Protection Act, 1972
Forest Rights Act, 2006
Indian Forest Act, 1927
Furthermore, he discussed the development of a new Working Plan from 2024 to 2034 and the associated challenges in development and protection.
