तूफान-बारिश से 35 की मौत, 400 जख्मी; राहत और बचाव के लिए सेना तैनात

काठमांडू : नेपाल में तूफान और बारिश से दक्षिणी हिस्से के दो जिलों में भारी तबाही हुई। हादसों में 35 लोगों की मौत हो गई और 400 से ज्यादा जख्मी हैं। सरकार ने राहत और बचाव कार्य के लिए सेना बुलाई। करीब 100 जवान प्रभावित इलाकों में भेजे गए। प्रधानमंत्री केपी शर्मा ओली ने प्रभावित इलाकों का दौरा किया।

नेपाल की सेना के प्रवक्ता यम प्रसाद धकल ने बताया कि काठमांडू एयरबेस से दो बटालियन राहत और बचाव कार्य के लिए भेजी गई हैं। वायुसेना के दो एमआई-17 हेलिकॉप्टर तैयार मौसम ठीक होने के बाद रेस्क्यू में जुटे हैं।

पूर्वोत्तरी राज्य त्रिपुरा के कुछ हिस्से में रविवार रात से बारिश हो रही है। मौसम विभाग ने अगले 24 घंटे में आंधी-तूफान और भारी बारिश की आशंका जताई है। एक दिन में राज्य में 72 मिलीमीटर बारिश दर्ज की गई। तेज हवाओं से पेड़ और बिजली के खंभे उखड़ गए।
