भगोड़े नीरव मोदी के खिलाफ लंदन कोर्ट ने जारी किया वारंट, जल्द होगी गिरफ्तारी

नईदिल्ली : लंदन की एक अदालत ने दो अरब डॉलर के पीएनबी घोटाले के मुख्य आरोपी नीरव मोदी के खिलाफ एक गिरफ्तारी वारंट जारी किया। अधिकारियों ने सोमवार को यह जानकारी दी। उन्होंने बताया कि धनशोधन के एक मामले में उसे (नीरव मोदी) प्रत्यर्पित करने के प्रवर्तन निदेशालय (ईडी) के अनुरोध के जवाब में उसके खिलाफ गिरफ्तारी वारंट जारी किया गया है।नीरव मोदी पर आरोप है कि उसने पंजाब नेशनल बैंक को धोखा देकर 13,600 करोड़ रुपए का कर्ज लिया।

 मेट्रोपॉलिटन पुलिस के एक प्रवक्ता ने बताया, ”हम गिरफ्तारी होने तक कोई टिप्पणी इसलिए नहीं करते क्योंकि कुछ भी स्थापित होने से पहले व्यक्ति को आरोपित किया जाना होता है।” वॉरंट जारी होने की खबरों के बाद अब नीरव के पास विकल्प है कि या तो वह किसी पुलिस थाने में सरेंडर कर दे या फिर वॉरंट को तामील कराने के लिए जिम्मेदार मेट्रोपॉलिटन पुलिस के अधिकारी उसे गिरफ्तार करेंगे। अगर नीरव को गिरफ्तार किया जाता है तो उसे लंदन स्थित वेस्टमिंस्टर मजिस्ट्रेट अदालत में पेश किया जाएगा और औपचारिक तौर पर उसे आरोपित किया जाएगा। इसके बाद वह जमानत की गुहार लगा सकता है।

अधिकारियों ने बताया कि जांच एजेंसी को हाल में वेस्टमिंस्टर मजिस्ट्रेट अदालत द्वारा वारंट जारी करने के बारे में सूचित किया गया था और नीरव मोदी को जल्द ही स्थानीय पुलिस (लंदन मेट्रोपॉलिटन पुलिस) द्वारा गिरफ्तार किया जा सकता है। उन्होंने बताया कि कुछ दिन पहले वारंट जारी किया गया और बाद में ईडी को सूचित किया गया था।

उन्होंने बताया कि गिरफ्तारी के बाद नीरव मोदी जमानत के लिए अदालत के समक्ष लाया जायेगा और उसके प्रत्यर्पण के लिए कानूनी कार्यवाही उसके बाद शुरू होगी। ईडी ने बीते 12 मार्च को कहा था कि वह दो अरब डॉलर के पीएनबी घोटाले में मुख्य आरोपी नीरव मोदी के ब्रिटेन से प्रत्यर्पण से जुड़े सभी मुद्दों पर ”अति सक्रियता” से विचार कर रहा है।

 ब्रिटेन के एक दैनिक समाचार पत्र ने हाल ही में एक रिपोर्ट और वीडियो जारी की जिसमें मोदी लंदन की सड़कों पर घूमता दिखाई दे रहा था और बताया गया कि भगोड़ा हीरा व्यापारी शहर के वेस्ट एंड में 80 लाख पाउंड के एक अपार्टमेंट में रह रहा है तथा वह हीरे का नया कारोबार भी चला रहा है।
