इस घटना के बाद से पुरे क्षेत्र में सनसनी फैल गई है
धमतरी अतिक्रमण की कार्रवाई से परेशान होकर एक आदिवासी महिला ने केरोसीन पीकर आत्महत्या कर ली। अतिक्रमण हटाने की कार्रवाई के लिए नायब तहसीलदार और कर्मचारी सहित तोड़ूदस्ता की टीम पहुंची हुई थी। इस घटना के बाद से इलाके में सनसनी फैल गई है।

यह घटना धमतरी जिले के छाती गांव की है जहाँ 8 जून को घर तोड़ने से नाराज घास जमीन गांव की एक आदिवासी महिला हितामिन बाई कंवर ने अतिक्रमण का विरोध किया। लेकिन टीम ने उनकी एक नहीं सुनी, जिसके बाद कार्रवाई से तंग आकर महिला ने घर में रखा केरोसीन पी लिया। महिला की हालत बिगड़ता देख उसे कुरूद ले जाया गया। यहां तबियत बिगड़ने पर उसे जिला अस्पताल में भर्ती कराया गया था। जहां इलाज के दौरान महिला ने दम तोड़ दिया। परिजनों का कहना है कि वे घास जमीन पर तकरीबन 10 सालों से मकान बना कर निवास कर रही थी।
