नई दिल्ली : भारत में बीते साल करीब 12 लाख लोगों की मौत वायु प्रदूषण की वजह से हुई है। वायु प्रदूषण पर आई एक नियंतण्र रिपोर्ट में यह जानकारी दी गई है।स्टेट ऑफ ग्लोबल एयर 2019 के मुताबिक लंबे समय तक घर से बाहर रहने या घर में वायु प्रदूषण की वजह से 2017 में स्ट्रोक, मधुमेह, दिल का दौरा, फेफड़े के कैंसर या फेफड़े की पुरानी बीमारियों से करीब पूरी दुनिया में करीब 50 लाख लोगों की मौत हुई।रिपोर्ट में बताया गया है, इनमें से तीस लाख मौतें सीधे तौर पर पीएम2.5 से जुड़ीं हैं। इनमें से करीब आधे लोगों की मौत भारत व चीन में हुई है। साल 2017 में इन दोनों देशों में 12-12 लाख लोगों की मौत इस वजह से हुई। अमेरिका की हेल्थ इफैक्ट्स इंस्टीट्यूट (एचईआई) ने यह रिपोर्ट बुधवार को जारी की। इसमें बताया गया है कि भारत में स्वास्य संबंधी खतरों से होने वाली मौतों का तीसरा सबसे बड़ा कारण वायु प्रदूषण और इसके बाद धूम्रपान है।रिपोर्ट के मुताबिक इस वजह से दक्षिण एशिया में मौजूदा स्थिति में जन्म लेने वाले बच्चों की जीवन ढाई साल कम हो जायेगा।
