छत्तीसगढ़ राज्य गठन के पश्चात् जनसहयोग से नक्सल आतंक को समाप्त करना बस्तर पुलिस की सर्वोत्तम प्राथमिकता रहा। कुछ महिनों से बस्तर स्थानीय पुलिस बल एवं केन्द्रीय सुरक्षाबलों द्वारा माओवादियों के आतंक के विरूद्ध यह लड़ाई निर्णायक मोड़ पर पहुंच गई है। शासन की माओवादियों के हिंसा के विरूद्ध ‘‘विश्वास-विकास-सुरक्षा’’ के त्रिवेणी कार्ययोजना की सकारात्मक परिणाम देखने को मिल रहा है।
पुलिस महानिरीक्षक, बस्तर रेंज श्री सुंदरराज पी. का मानना है कि नक्सली के विरूद्ध अंदरूनी क्षेत्र में की जा रही प्रभावी नक्सल विरोधी अभियान के साथ-साथ माओवादियों की विकास विरोधी एवं जनविरोधी चेहरा को उजागर करना अत्यंत आवष्यक है। इसी उद्देश्य से माओवादियों के विरूद्ध प्रति प्रचार युद्ध (Psyops/Propaganda War) जारी की जा रही है।
बैनर, पोस्टर, लघु चलचित्र, ऑडियों क्लिप, नाच-गाना, गीत-संगीत एवं अन्य प्रचार प्रसार के माध्यम से माओवादियों की काला कारनामों को उजागर किया जायेगा। स्थानीय गोंडी भाषा ‘‘बस्तर त माटा’’ एवं हल्बी भाषा में ‘‘बस्तर चो आवाज’’ के नाम से प्रारंभ की जा रही यह अभियान के माध्यम बस्तरवासियों की विचारों को बाहर के दुनिया तक पहुंचाया जाएगा।
पुलिस महानिरीक्षक, बस्तर रेंज ने कहा कि इस अभियान के माध्यम से स्थानीय नक्सल मिलिशिया कैडर्स एवं नक्सल सहयोगियों को हिंसा त्याग कर समाज की मुख्यधारा में शामिल होने के लिए आत्मसमर्पण हेतु प्रेरित करेगा।

Addressing the challenges of left wing extremism remains top on the priority list of Bastar Police for the last two decades.
Over these years the local police force with the help of central paramilitary forces like CRPF, BSF, ITBP & SSB have made much inroads into the erstwhile strong hold areas of CPI Maoists.
Induction of well trained and highly motivated special anti naxal task forces like DRG, STF and CoBRA has given the much required operational edge to the security forces.
The popular three pronged strategy namely “Vishwas, Vikas & Suraksha” being adopted by security forces have yielded positive results in Bastar Region.
Sundarraj Pattilingam, Inspector General of Police Bastar Range mentions that in addition to the ongoing offensive operations against the red gureillas, there is a strong need to expose the real and ugly face of the Maoists. For the same purpose Bastar Police has launched launched a counter propaganda psyops against the misdeeds of Maoists.
Through a series of posters, short films, audio clips and other popular propaganda methodologies Bastar Police would wage a high intensity campaign against the anti-tribal and anti-developmental activities of the Naxals.
Contents in Gondi, Halbi and other local tribal dialects would be highlight of this campaign.
The campaign named as “BASTAR THA MATTA” in Gondi and “BASTAR CHO AWAAZ” in Halbi meaning voice of Bastar would reflect the emotions and sentiments of the Bastar people to the outside world.
IGP Bastar Range believes that this counter propaganda war would not only help the security forces to portray the Maoist atrocities but also make local cadres realise how they have been misguided and misused by their senior cadres.
